I need to get a better photo of this, so you can see what it actually looks like. I also need to paint more.

I found these on a forum I frequent; they were taken and edited by a poster there. See here for the source, and a couple more that didn’t fit so well in this imageset. I am enchanted. All credit goes to Herne, the original photographer.

The Lady and the White Stag.
This idea just came to me out of nowhere when I thought of it, but I thought of it as a Beauty & the Beast tale about light being found in the darkest places, hence the stars in the night background. My mother actually thought the stag was Herne the Hunter, which I can kind of see.

In Britain, an aspect Cerennunos was named Herne. The horned god has the Satyr-like features of Baphomet along with its emphasis on the phallus.

One of my favourite depictions of Herne the Hunter, and one of my favourite songs by Clannad. (This is from the BBC Show Robin of Sherwood)
